Request for Volunteers Sept 2010
As you may already be aware, Ian Javes , Race Director of the TRAQ Glass House Mountains race series is seeking volunteers for the September 11th / 12th Glasshouse 100 race.
Although many positions have been filled by existing supporters, this 2 day event is draining the pool of volunteers and there is one checkpoint that is as yet unmanned.
The MBRR club has seen many of its members participate in these Glasshouse events and most would say that they are a bit different and a whole heap of fun.
Perhaps this is an opportunity for the MBRR to make this checkpoint their own and in so doing make a valuable contribution to the staging of races in the local area.
The MBRR club or the persons volunteering their time, as decided by the club, will be compensated as detailed in attachment…
Children are welcome to help on the checkpoints and it is indeed quite a social time, although it will of course be very, very cold!.
Duties are to mark off the runners numbers, restock food and drink on the table and give heaps of encouragement.. (Food and drink is supplied to the checkpoint).
Checkpoint 6 is well known to some and is just a short distance off the Beerburrum / Woodford Road.
